A blurb from Northaven (Ian) and Second Hands (Liam)

Ian: "I feel like I'm allowed to be proud of this one.

I talked about doing this split with Liam around fall of last year as I was working on the record, but schedules didn't line up. Faced with notice that they're going on the road in a couple weeks time with no music to promote, we worked around roommate's schedules, our own work schedules, shows we were playing individually or together and made this.

Liam's songs are a long time coming, and it feels like an honor to help bring them to life and expand my horizons as an engineer. As a lyricist and songwriter, Liam has come right out of the gate since the start as a brilliant and hardworking writer and live musician, and to be a set of careful hands bringing their work together is nothing short of a blessing.

My songs were written in the days leading up to the return to playing guitar live in early may after that nasty wrist injury that took place two weeks before Post Pandemic Blues dropped. These songs serve as a meditation on the grief expressed in the last record and knowing yourself after reaching the crest of life's current hill to climb. These songs are about recognizing what the ride downhill will be like and the next hill there is to climb.

Special thanks goes to my roommates, bandmates, friends on and offline, my queer friends that accept me with open arms and few questions, the friends among the many discords I'm in like SPI and Mega Infinity, Jake and the Rat Pack, the DIY emo crew around Superdestroyer and many more folks. Its been a rough year so far and I probably wouldn't be able to hold it down so cleanly without y'all lifting me up when the burden gets too heavy to bear. I hope I can make y'all proud."
